Hemp is a type of cannabis (Cannabis sativa L.). The federally-legal version of hemp (has less than 0.3% THC) is often called industrial hemp. The flowers, leaves, stems, and stalks are typically what’s used in the production of CBD extract because these are the parts of hemp that contain cannabinoids. Hemp is an easy-to-grow, highly-sustainable crop that’s been cultivated for thousands of years. It’s good for the body and our planet.

CBD stands for cannabidiol, which is a cannabinoid found in cannabis. Lacking psychoactive properties, CBD will not get you high like THC can. CBD has a long track record of supporting various aspects of physical and mental well-being in people and animals.

Advanced nanotechnology techniques can be applied to CBD to reduce size of the CBD molecules. Because the molecules are so little and have greater surface area, nanotized CBD is more absorbable — so your body is able to utilize more of the CBD and more quickly. Nano CBD can be more effective, faster acting, and a much greater value than regular CBD.

Cannabigerol, aka CBG, is a naturally-occurring cannabinoid found in cannabis flowers. Unlike some of its kin (e.g., CBD and THC), CBG isn’t an abundant compound. CBG isn’t a psychotropic substance — it won’t get you high.
There isn’t much research on CBG yet but existing studies suggest this cannabinoid may be:
  • Antibiotic
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Neuroprotective
  • Pain-relieving

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds. There are three kinds:
  • Phytocannabinoids (made in plants)
  • Endocannabinoids (made in your body)
  • Synthetic cannabinoids (made in labs)
CBD, CBG, and THC are just three of the 140+ known cannabinoids found in cannabis. Cannabinoids engage with your endocannabinoid system to produce different responses and effects in your body.

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a complex network of endocannabinoids, enzymes, and receptors that is present throughout your body. Your ECS helps manage many key bodily systems and functions. These range from sleep to mood to cognition to pain sensation and beyond. Keeping your ECS in a state of optimal balance is critical — it’s when you’ll feel and be at your best!

This depends on the kind of CBD oil in question. There are three types of CBD:
  • Full-spectrum CBD has THC in it. There may be more than 0.3% THC in full-spectrum CBD.
  • Broad-spectrum CBD has has had most of the THC removed but might still have trace amounts (no more than 0.3% THC).
  • CBD isolate is the purest form of the cannabinoid. It’s been highly processed to strip out all THC.
Also, CBD derived from marijuana is more likely to have THC in it than hemp-based CBD. Goddess Well products use broad-spectrum CBD made from hemp.

CBD offers many potential benefits for physical, mental, and emotional health. Many people look to CBD for relief of or support for conditions and symptoms related to:
  • anxious feelings and stress
  • muscle relief, body relief, or something similar
  • skin problems relief
  • Sleep Support
Research is ongoing, constantly revealing more about CBD’s therapeutic capabilities — so stay tuned!

It’s estimated that as many as 75% of menstruating women suffer PMS symptoms and up to 85% postmenopausal women have experienced menopause-related symptoms.
There are legions of endocannabinoid receptors in the female reproductive system. So, CBD might ease the pain, hormone-induced mood fluxes, skin breakouts, sleep difficulties, and other bothersome symptoms that are often associated with menstrual cycles. For menopausal women, CBD could do many of the same things plus possibly help with temperature regulation (hot flashes) and bone density.

The vast majority of women (over 75% according to one estimate) experience emotional distress at some point during their menstruating and menopausal years.
CBD may influence the regulation of or response to hormones. In turn, this could facilitate emotional balance and resilience.

Urinary tract infections are a major women’s health concern:
  • Women have a 30x greater risk of UTIs than men.
  • About 50% of women will get a UTI once in their lifetime.
  • As many as 40% of women who get a UTI will have another one within six months.
CBD could help with UTIs in a couple of ways. If you have a UTI, CBD may help to alleviate pain and inflammation and potentially aid in the combat of the bacteria causing it. Due to its potential antibacterial qualities, CBD — when used consistently — might help prevent UTIs.

Feeling good — as a woman — can be elusive. EPO may be a valuable tool in the women’s wellness kit, helping to capture that sense of well-being you’re seeking.
Studies suggest that, as an anti-inflammatory, EPO may help with many wellness matters that are important to women. These include:
  • Skin issues
  • PMS symptoms
  • Hot flashes
  • Breast soreness
  • Heart health

A synergistic blend is simply one in which the combined effect of the ingredients is greater than the effect of each individual ingredient all on its own. The ingredients have joined forces to be extra effective! This means they can be even more supportive of your wellness needs.

A COA is a formal report generated by an independent third-party lab. This statement shows exactly what’s in the CBD product that was analyzed. It will tell you how much CBD and THC is actually in your CBD product.
It’s critical to review COAs because you need to know that you’re getting what you think you’re getting. A COA can confirm that:
  • The contents of your CBD product match what’s on the product label/packaging
  • Your CBD product falls within legal limits (e.g., doesn’t exceed 0.3% THC contents)
  • There aren’t any contaminants — like pesticides or heavy metals — lurking in your CBD

No! For practicality’s sake, we use the word “women” a lot. But, in truth, it’s hard to tell just what that means. We mean it in the most inclusive, respectful way possible.

There’s no universal answer to this one.
Dosing is a very personalized thing and is impacted by many factors. Things like your health, weight, age, needs, and preferences play a role. Your CBD routine — when and how your take your CBD — can impact your dose as well.
How much CBD you take also depends on the CBD product you’re using. Different types of CBD and product formulations can elicit different responses from your body.
Two good rules of thumb when it comes to figuring out how much CBD to take (especially with new-to-you products):
  • 1. Check the product label for serving size and suggested usage instructions.
  • 2. Start small and go slow. Take the minimum possible does to begin with and then adjust from there once you know how your body reacts.
It may take some time and experimentation to find your “perfect” dose. This is pretty normal, though.

This depends upon the kind of CBD you consume and your body. However, most CBD products kick in within 15-90 minutes from the time of taking them. CBD products that enter your body via the bloodstream (e.g., CBD oils taken sublingually) tend to be quicker-acting than CBD products that get into your system through the digestive tract (e.g., CBD gummies).
At the macro level, it’s not uncommon for it to take days or weeks to realize certain benefits of CBD.

There are several possible reasons why you aren’t experiencing the windfall you were expecting. And all the variables related to your body’s singularity weigh in as well.
Fortunately, you can see if one or more of these tactics works for you:
  • If you’re an occasional CBD user, test out taking CBD on a more regular basis. Consistency may do the trick.
  • If you are taking a partial or low dose, consider bumping up the amount you’re using (while still heeding product usage guidelines).
  • Give a different type of CBD a go. If CBD isolate isn’t doing it for you, see if broad-spectrum hits your sweet spot.
  • Explore other CBD product formulations. If CBD gummies aren’t your jam, maybe CBD softgels or CBD topicals will be.
  • Make sure you’re using a nano CBD product. Nanotized CBD is more bioavailable — your body should have an easier time squeezing the benefits out of your CBD and utilizing them.
  • Take your CBD with or after a snack or meal. CBD is fat-soluble, which means it dissolves in fat. Once dissolved, you body better able to absorb it.
  • Choose products that not only have as few ingredients as possible, but ingredients that are natural and organic. Chemicals — like pesticides and processing residues — can impede your body’s ability to absorb the CBD, rendering it less effective. Moreover, it’s easier for your body to process more natural substances.

CBD should be safe for most adults who use it responsibly. It’s considered to be well tolerated, relatively non-toxic, and blessed with a favorable safety profile.
Adverse responses to CBD are usually mild and temporary. Allergic reactions are rare, with very few reported cases. Some people may experience side effects like:
  • Dry mouth
  • Drowsiness
  • Stomachache
  • Appetite change
Bear in mind, though, that CBD is not for everyone. There are known contraindications and drug interactions with CBD. If you have a health condition or take medications or supplements, you should ask your doctor before adding CBD into the mix. CBD may also not be appropriate for kids, teens, or pregnant and nursing women.

Cannabidiol will not show up on a drug screening.
However, if your CBD product contains any THC — that could show up and result in a positive drug test. There are a lot of factors that can raise or lower the likelihood of this happening, though. The type of drug test being done, the kind and amount of CBD you used, and how long it’s been since you took CBD are just some of the things that can make a difference.
Your best bet? If you know you’ll be heading in for a drug test, don’t use CBD for a while beforehand.
